"Ski Town USA" is what many call Steamboat. Located in northwest Colorado in the Routt National Forest, the huge modern ski area 5 miles southeast of town has some of the earliest snow of the ski season.

107 wide open and groomed trails spread out over 2,930 acres blanketed with over 300 inches of sparkling powder snow each year. 20 lifts speed you up for more exhilarating runs, including tree runs through the firs and aspens.

With many family programs, kids of all ages enjoy Steamboat. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts enjoy the Ski Touring Center and groomed trails. Snowboarders are welcome. The gentle rolling country side provides wonderful views and outdoor experiences.

Several hot springs are in the area including Strawberry Park Hot Springs with is famous for it's natural setting and mineral waters. Just seven miles outside of town it is a favorite place to relax after a long day of skiing.

Lodging, restaurants and shopping abound in the area including slopeside accommodations. A true Colorado "western" town, you will see lots of cowboy hats and ranch land.

155 miles from Denver, head west on I-70 to Dillon, then north or Colorado 9 to Kremmling. Then US 40 west to Steamboat Springs. You can also fly into Steamboat's Yampa Valley Regional Airport with both direct flights and commuter flights.
